24" piece and (1) 10" piece of number 22 insulated copper wire with approximately 1" of insulation stripped off all ends
Bulb holder or alternate insulated bulb holder
(60) 1/2" brass paper fasteners (brads)
Metal finishing nail
1.
Evenly space and insert 60 brass fasteners on the cardboard as shown.
2.
Wrap bare wire around fasteners on back to make a circuit pattern.
3.
Connect 10" wire to the end of the circuit pattern wire.
4.
Attach one end of 24" wire to nail, and other end to bulb holder. Connect other bulb holder wire to negative (-) lead wire of Power Pack with tape. Connect end of insulated wire (step 3) to positive (+) lead wire of Power Pack with tape.
5.
Move the nail from brass fastener to brass fastener. Try to light the bulb.
6.
The nail touching the fastener completes the circuit. The lighted bulb is your signal that you are solving the maze. You can have a friend make a maze and begin a new game.
Please Read Carefully!
All experiments use safe, low-voltage battery power. Household electrical current contains high voltage that could cause serious injury. Do not use household electrical current for any of these experiments.
Carefully follow wiring instructions for each experiment - improper wiring can result in battery leakage and/or rupture.
Do not take a battery apart - contact with internal battery material can cause injury.
Do not dispose in fire, recharge, put in backwards, mix with used or other battery types - may explode, leak and cause personal injury.
